V 4 & Rotary Jamboree Sounds Alive & Extreme Bass Battle Sound Off March 2016

It’s that time again, time for the V 4 & Rotary Jamboree Sounds Alive & Extreme Bass Battle Sound Off March 2016! Its hard to believe its been a whole year since the last sound off (Many thanks to Aaron Bublitz, when I arrived, most of the competitors were already and prepped.

First runs of the morning were the “Kiwi Classes” and I was amazed on how smooth this ran, with a lot of the competitors getting personal best’s or very close to it. Once we had all the runs completed for the “Kiwi Classes” everybody had a quick break. One thing I did notice this year were the amount of crowds drawn in due to the cars being more music focused, I must admit it is more exciting (And easier to relate to) watching/listening to cars playing music than a 1-2 second frequency burps!

Highlights of the day – Well this is quite a hard one as there were so many highlights during the day… The first thing that stands out was Luke Hendriks doing a 152.4db on Music while his car was getting a internal beating from 3 DD Audio 815’s!

The next highlight was Dave Williams he pulls a 155.8db burp from two B2 15’s in his walled Mitsubishi hatchback.

Another big highlight was Vaughan Clark he pulls a 153.3db from a single DD Audio 818 and sets a new record for loudest single 18 in a drop in box for 2016

I think the one highlight that got the most applause was when John Latu lined up in the lane with his DD Audio 812 and pulls a 151.6db! A new NZ record for the loudest single 12″ Subwoofer.

Person of the day AKA Topdog- Aaron was given the honor of picking the person of the day and I must admit it was actually a really hard decision since everybody did so well and the energy of the event was really good this year with everybody supporting each other on their runs! His pick was Luke Hendriks, not only for the epic demos, he did a 152dB+ on music and this was his first soundoff.

I’d like to end this Update by thanking everybody involved in either running, competing or even spectating! If it wasn’t for all of you we wouldn’t be enjoying these competitions like we do. Until next time have fun, be safe, and turn it up!
