In late June/July 2011 ABTEC opened its Showroom/Workshop at Unit 1, 4 Railway Avenue, Alicetown, Lower Hutt. Increasing the range of services provided to the public and also a place where people can visit to talk face-to-face about future installations/products or just general advise about there existing car audio set ups.
Opening the Showroom/Workshop also meant taking on more staff and also shuffling existing staff around to accommodate the extra work load. So Darryl and Dennis moved from Head-Office to the Hutt Workshop, Lawrence came on-board and eventually George became part of the team.
With the addition of Lawrence on-board, this meant not only that we could install and repair alarms in-house but could also do on-site work as-well and with Lawrence’s 16+ years experience in alarm installations he is the perfect person for the job.
Like all of the ABTEC Team Lawrence is a dB Drag competitor/enthusiast, currently running 4 JBL 12″ sub-woofers in his Toyota bB and aiming to be in the 150dB club very soon!
Next on the Team is Darryl. He has been apart of the ABTEC Team for 19 years now and has one of the most broad knowledge bases of any person I have meet in this industry. Darryl started as a on-road hands-free car kit installations technician, worked his way up and has learnt every aspect of the business that ABTEC provides.
He is also a major part of the ABTEC Team in dB Drag Racing with his Toyota Vitz that did a epic 149.9dB with four entry level 10″ Sony Xplod sub-woofers!

Last but not least is George, he has become apart of the ABTEC Team recently and has 23 years in the alarm and car audio industry and guessing with his extensive knowledge it won’t be long till he has his own dB Drag car pushing out MAD SPL numbers!
And on Saturday’s you can find Mr ABTEC (AKA Ashley Burrell Technical) himself down at the Hutt branch helping out the guys & catching up with the local SPL/SQ enthusiasts and with 30+ years experience why wouldn’t you want to talk to him about your car being MAD About Bass! Or making your car Sounds Alive!!
