Passive Infrared sensor

A PIR sensor is the best sensor to use to protect the rear of vans or trucks as it uses infrared to detect body heat and movement. Standard alarm sensors, such as shock sensors, will not be able to protect the entire vehicle adequately which is why we recommend always fitting a PIR sensor to a van or truck (especially if you are carrying gear in the back). The AVS PIR sensor uses a unique four element PIR which means it is more stable in the variable heat conditions inside a vehicle (a standard PIR sensor fitted into a vehicle can be prone to false triggers). AVS also has a wireless PIR sensor that can be used in conjunction with the AVS RXPRO receiver where it is not possible to run wires through the vehicle. Note: because of how the PIR sensor works do not leave animals or children inside the vehicle with the car alarm armed.
