Factory Alarm Expansion Module
Many cars today come with a basic factory fitted alarm system that only triggers when a door (and sometimes the bonnet or boot) is opened. The AVS Detector is a factory alarm expansion module that lets you easily and affordably upgrade your factory car alarm by adding AVS after market sensors. Any AVS after market sensor can be easily added including: Shock sensor detects an impact to the body of the vehicle Glass break sensor detects the sound frequency of breaking glass Digital tilt sensor protects mag wheels by setting itself for the angle the car is parked on and triggering the alarm if the car is tilted in ANY direction from one degree Ultrasonic sensor detects movement within the cabin of the car for superior cabin protection Microwave sensor detects body mass entering the vehicle (ideal for convertibles) PIR sensor infrared sensor detects body heat and movement (use to protect the rear of vans and trucks) Reed switch triggers if the two halves are moved apart when the alarm is armed (use for ute canopies) How to test if your car has a factory alarm or just uses a factory remote key for central locking: If your car has a factory alarm system it will trigger (make a noise, such as the horn sounding) if a door (and sometimes the bonnet or boot) is opened. Usually this can be tested by opening a window and locking the car with the factory remote. Wait for a minute then unlock the car manually from inside and open the door. The alarm should sound. If there is no sound it is likely your car only has a factory remote key which lock/unlocks the doors. But no worries! The great thing with AVS is you can install a normal AVS car alarm and then operate it from your factory remote key. This means when you lock/unlock the car with the factory remote key it will arm/disarm the AVS alarm.
