When someone says the words \u2018hi-fi system\u2019, what do you think of? If you\u2019re anything like us, you\u2019ve just pictured a combination of separates comprising source \u2013 maybe a\u00a0streamer,\u00a0CD player\u00a0or\u00a0record player\u00a0\u2013 an amplifier and a pair of speakers.<\/p>\n

If we could go back 40 years and ask the same question, we suspect any enthusiast would have given a very similar answer – minus the digital sources, of course.<\/p>\n

While hi-fi has certainly improved and been developed over the decades, on a fundamental level,\u00a0arguably,\u00a0it\u2019s barely evolved at all.<\/p>\n
