It had already been an interesting year for the Car-Audio\/Sound-Off Scene with people continuing to beat their personal bests and a lot of these people had also been doing some very impressive upgrades to their systems. Which is always good to see since sometimes the smallest of upgrades can make a massive difference.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2761\" title=\"SO2012GF-1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As competitors turned up <strong>Darryl<\/strong> fired up the <strong>BBQ<\/strong> and as the next hour went on you could tell everyone had a good feed as we were all moving slightly slower than usual when it came to moving all the cars into the workshop. Aside from all the food our good friend <strong>Johnny<\/strong> supplied for the day, it was good to see all the competitors showing their setups to each other and giving little demos to the crowds that soon came to see where all the bass was coming from.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2762\" title=\"SO2012GF-2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once everybody had finished demoing there sounds and we had numbered all the cars it was all go and as you can see below a few people got carried away when it came to numbering their cars&#8230; Anyway, back to the sound off.<\/p>\n<p>First up was the <strong>Kiwi Class<\/strong> Freq Burp&#8217;s and I must say even though I prefer the <strong>&#8216;Sounds Alive&#8217; Class<\/strong> more there was some impressive results in the <strong>Kiwi Classes<\/strong> with everything from a <strong>134.4dB<\/strong> all the way to a <strong>154dB<\/strong> but the result that impressed me the most was <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abtec.co.nz\/thirty-years.php\" target=\"_blank\">Ashley &#8216;MAD BASS&#8217; Burrell&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> <strong>150dB<\/strong> in <strong>ABTEC1<\/strong> (Mitsubishi Pajero).\u00a0Anyone that has had a decent look at <strong>ABTEC1<\/strong> would know that it had a <strong>DD-9518<\/strong> running off a <strong>DD-M4<\/strong> (Old Model) with only the standard Pajero battery and no big three<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2763\" title=\"SO2012GF-3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/abtec.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/SO2012GF-3-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once the <strong>Kiwi Classes<\/strong> were done with it was time for the <strong>&#8216;Sounds Alive&#8217; (Music) Class<\/strong> and as I have said before I prefer the <strong>&#8216;Sounds Alive&#8217; Class<\/strong> since we don&#8217;t drive around listening single one off &#8216;Burps&#8217; everywhere we go.<\/p>\n<p>The song of choice this time round was <strong>Sleepless by Excision<\/strong> which\u00a0accommodated for the cars tuned relatively high and the ground pounders, the car that impressed me on the day in the <strong>&#8216;Sound Alive&#8217; Class<\/strong> was Dave&#8217;s Commodore since he had gained a whole <strong>dB<\/strong> since the last testing night a week before.
