ABTEC’s NEW Home Theatre Demo Room

Since the move to our NEW shop I haven’t found much time to write many blogs so I thought I’d hide in my new office and write about my favourite feature of the NEW building, The ABTEC Home Theatre Demo Room!

This is something I know Ashley has wanted to do for a long time since he has a passion for not only car audio but also home theatre, if you have ever watched a movie at his house you would know exactly what I mean!

The choice of the product used/fitted to the room was actually an easy task since Ashley wanted to keep to our “SOUNDS ALIVE” motto, so that meant keeping everything high-end but at the same time not so high-end that it is out of every bodies reach. So we went with Harman Kardon, Klipsch, Energy, Digital Designs, JBL and Velodyne.

The amplifier/receiver used to power the home theatre is the Harman Kardon AVR660 which has more than enough features to sink a battleship, not only that but it also has more than enough amperage to put a clean signal to any of the speakers used.

Instead of going threw every speaker that has been used in the home theatre room I will just make a list:

  • Energy EP-BAR-E
  • Energy V6.3BLK
  • Energy CF70BLK
  • Energy CB10
  • Energy CC10
  • Energy CR10
  • Energy EAS6C
  • Energy ESWC8
  • Energy VMINIPACK
  • DD LS-241
  • DD PS1
  • DD PS2
  • JBL ES90-BK
  • JBL ES30-BK
  • JBL ES25-BK
  • Klipsch AW-650
  • Velodyne EQ-Max15

I’ve spent many a good hour or so listening to music, watching DTS Blu-rays, playing the Xbox 360 in this home theatre room now and I must say it still blows me away. The definition and clarity from the Energy Speakers and Velodyne Subwoofer is just amazing, when watching “Saving Private Ryan” it was like I was in the battlefield with all the explosions and gunfire.

If you are passing by The ABTEC Showroom or are in the Petone area make sure you have five minutes or so to check out our NEW home theatre room! I can’t explain in words how good it sounds, so the best way to put it would be that its not the same watching movies at home anymore!

Also if you do pop down to 49 Hutt Road, Petone ask Lance or Ashley to demo the Animusic HD Blu-ray as it seems to amaze people of all ages!
