AVS Digital Tilt Sensor

Did you know that a standard car alarm sensor, such as a shock sensor, will NOT protect the wheels of your car? The only effective way to detect if your car is being jacked up is with a tilt sensor. Tilt sensors are becoming more important in the fight against crime because of two growing trends: With today's complex car alarms thieves will often tow a car away to a safe, private space before it is worked on. And to do that they simply get the vehicle towed. A good tilt sensor will trigger the alarm if the car is being towed. It's not just mags that are valuable to a thief - factory rims, four wheel drive tyres and expensive tyres are all targets. Even with a car alarm installed, if it doesn't have a tilt sensor, a thief can in many instances jack the car and remove the wheels without triggering the alarm. The AVS digital tilt sensor is completely electronic with an accelerometer and microcontroller for effective and sensitive operation plus it contains extensive anti-falsing circuitory. It is much more accurate than basic mecury based switches. The sensor works by setting itself to the angle you are parked on when you arm the alarm. If the car is tilted in ANY direction from one degree it triggers the alarm. Cheaper tilt sensors will not be able to pick up this small an adjustment and with after market suspension it is possible to jack a car only slightly and be able to remove the wheels. The AVS digital tilt sensor will also trigger the alarm if the car is being towed. This sensor can be added as an optional upgrade to any AVS alarm and it comes as standard with the AVS S5 Five Star car alarm.
